The third principle is "Leverage Contingency" - when the unexpected happens, turn it into an opportunity - get every last drop out of it. I cross referenced this to Luke's parable of the unjust steward - the unexpected thing for him was that he got found out and fired - so he milked it for all it was worth. In his book on chaplaincy Tim Jenkins interprets contingency through the eyes of faithful vocation as 'providence'.
