Whole researching church websites (nearly 1,000 here and abroad) the overwhelming majority presented themselves as a stone building. <br />My answer was a rolling display of people doing different things, from duck-races to Lee Abbey, and unposed pictures of breakfasts, farming, even a Rogation procession'Benedictus_in_Ardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04823317429922265671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557921162362661008.post-55257418874190989242014-10-19T09:19:59.523+01:002014-10-19T09:19:59.523+01:00There was a picture on the front page of the CofE ...There was a picture on the front page of the CofE website last year with lots of solemn looking bishops. It almost invited a caption competition, it was so downbeat. Thankfully the website is now a bit more inviting. The current photo reel has lots of 'normal' people, and the only 2 clergy shown are both female.David Keenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11872644403415655350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5557921162362661008.post-39324696774263236372014-10-18T23:14:37.999+01:002014-10-18T23:14:37.999+01:00Rosalind here - not sure how to not be anonymous!!...Rosalind here - not sure how to not be anonymous!! I agree - in fact, I'd encourage all photos to ensure that at least half the people are not wearing dog collars or vestments. Church/diocesan newspapers still tend to show a lot more photos of bishops than anyone else, when there is a whole diocese of other people out there. It might encourage a bit more thinking about what the event is all about -and remind us that the church is not just about men in dog collars and suits or cassocks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
